Literature Text
"Smile Through the Pain"
Can you see it? I am happy-I am alive
Can you see it? The scars of a thousand words
I am still going
Still fighting
Still hoping
I have been brought down
been beaten
Been bullied
But for some reason the one thing I am sure I can do
Is smile
Through the tears, through the agony
Is smile
Because one thing is real
And I am no longer letting YOU take it away from me
Can you see it? I am happy-I am alive
Can you see it? The scars of a thousand words
I am still going
Still fighting
Still hoping
I have been brought down
been beaten
Been bullied
But for some reason the one thing I am sure I can do
Is smile
Through the tears, through the agony
Is smile
Because one thing is real
And I am no longer letting YOU take it away from me
Literature
History Is Never Made By Those Who Behave
We are taught of former glories
The burden of our history
Weighs heavy on infant shoulders
As it does our enemies
But I feel safe and protected
On this the day of the Moon
Unlike the remaining six days
When impending horror consumes
Wind chill woes on the moors this morn
Freedom spoke in a foreign tongue
I did not understand her chants
Percussion did not help her song
The stench of death, the drums of war
In time with the beat my heart gave
History is never written
By the flocks that choose to behave
So raise hell but come together
Unite as we are all the same
Keep the lion's heart within you
Your fiery temper learn to tame
Literature
Accidents Happen
"Fell down the stairs",
The classic line.
She gives this one
Each single time.
The doctor sighs
And shakes his head,
He looks at me
Laid on the bed.
"You clumsy girl,
Why can't you learn
To walk down stairs
Without concern?"
I look at him,
I know the drill,
Apologise
And say "I will".
He gives that look,
The kind that says,
You're lucky to have
A mum that cares.
"Take your lolly,
And go home now.
Mummy will keep
You safe and sound".
Literature
Lonely Girl
I painted.
You said I'm wasteful.
I sang.
You said I couldn't hold a tune.
I wrote.
You said I made no sense.
I danced.
You said I had two left feet.
I cried.
You told me I was ugly.
I will be amazing one day.
Just to make all of you wonder why you didn't get to know me better.

Bravo.
It's an amazing poem, and I love the meaning behind it. Nice job translating from the original to this, and it still retains a flicker of hope.
Nice job!
